I recorded this using a bottle and a bowl of water. I experimented a bit & got some interesting sounds. I recorded this & combined it with some other recordings to make a sound effect for some goo.

I was fiddling around with an analog synth that went into a peavey km50 keyboard amp and i made this soundit has loads of pitch editing giving it the house-ey feel to it and i think it was an fmaj5/9 chord with extra 6ths and 4ths.

Took my zoom h4 with me on the last flight of a 5 story metal stairwell then on the backstage catwalk - first back stage, then over the audience, then to the sound booth of a theatre i was working at. Note: i did not realize my pants made so much noise as i was walking.

I thought i record some breaths, tried to variate it a bit. For example there is an inhale and exhale with the yogic ujjayi breath and some other ones. I used some of these in drone pieces, they blend it pretty well. Thats unprocessed raw: just recorded direct into ableton 9 with zoom h2n.

I used my bathroom as a live echo chamber - porting out from my pc, and then recording back via a neuman mic. I liked the tunefullness of the boiler pump in the airing cupboard, so left it running and put the mic in there. This is a very small piece of an overtone composition i made.

I processed this sound by placing the cap of an empty small water bottle on my forehead with my palm. I vibrated my palm against the bottle to create the woodpecker sound. I added some reverb to give the illusion that this takes place in a bird sanctuary, or a rainforest.

I recorded this for a gamejam in 2017. Used for the game over screen where there was a maniac, demoniac child laughing at you. I probably will never be capable of doing this same laugh again. The game itself was not very good in the end. . . I had a lot of fun with my friends making it though.

Interference is a interesting phenomenon. I blow a bass tone and add my own voice, first i adjust my voice to same wavelength as the instrument, then i change my voice linearily, and you can follow how you get a 3rd tone, which is either a+b or a-b.

Recorded on marantz pmd661 with rode ntg-2. While working on a project i saw a man operating a machine with tank-treads designed for lifting wheelchairs up and down stairs. I took him aside and asked if i could record the internal motors and servos working.

I heard these owls outside my window this evening. I live next to a large field and it attracts birds of prey frequently. I managed to capture them conversing back and forth. Unfortunately, the neighbors dog had to chime in. But, even that sounds kind of neat with the natural reverb of the open space.

This is one from when i first got into digital music. I "penciled" in midi graphs, and manipulated other samples from a buddies sound bank, thus creating. . . Pollie soft. I love the mumbling bass rhythms in the background under the subtle jazz hits, maybe?.

Racking the slide on a. 45 automatic. It may have been a colt. May require some trimming and buffing. I think i recorded this with an akg perception 200 using cool edit -- and i did it to get my room-mate to leave (after we recorded the sounds of several of his guns and a sword. . . ).

I thought that i would record some slide playing on my acoustic guitar, and then cut the entire thing down to make up some licks and notes that people can use. I have used noise reduction, because there was some noise.

Recorded at the office when it was raining. I didnt have any specific tool to record the room so i just brought my cell phone and i started recording. There is some noises when dragging the phone, but it you edit on audacity it wont be much of a problem.

These are recordings of a small female choir group i recorded for a college film back in 2012. Captured with a stereo mid side mic into pro tools at 96k for use with effects such as paul stretch. I uploaded the cleanest takes i got, room noise is there but isn't terrible.

I created this sound that look like a rattlesnake sound thanks to a tambourin and cymbal record. I made repeat those two percussion three times. When one is finish an other one start, and this 3 times. I added between them an effect that end the sound and start a new one.

This is an "error" sound i made for one of my games. It is actually me using nothing but my mouth and lips to sound it out. I had a hard time finding anything like this online, so i made it myself. And how it's available here for someone else, hehe.

Recorded near a drainpipe, i have no idea what the bass wind sound in the background is. I think it was some sort of exhaust from the basement around, but i don't know why it turned off and on. In any case it makes for a very spooky ambient effect.

When i first tested out my zoom h5 i began talking into the mic and then all of a sudden i needed a sneeze. I was about to stop the recording but then thought it would be good to record the sneeze to see how it handled my loudness. Well it coped very well and the recording came out perfect!so, here it is. In my quest for that perfect sound that i'm looking for, i ended with something that doesn't quite fit the bill. Never the less, i think it has potential in the right hands. One thing i would like to point out is a single glitch at about 1. 907. I spent a couple of hours trying to figure it out. It may be a non-issue to someone that hasn't obsessed over it before, during, and after dinner. Use it and abuse it if it fits your needs. After spending a weekend putting together a giant wardrobe (from everyones favourite swedish furniture store) for my girlfriend i thought i should reward myself by making some recordings of it. This is a close mic recording of the sliding door, i followed the top of the door (where there was the most interesting sound) the full length of the wardrobe as i opened/closed the door. For this recording i used my sennheiser mkh416 going into a sound devices mp-1 preamp and recorded to a tascam dr-680.

I was looking for the sound of a hot engine clicking and found just one with lots of background noises. So i decided to build it from scratch in bitwig studio and this is it. The sound starts with fast clicking slowing down. It's not perfect, you can still hear it's made from samples. But as the sound is normally used at low volume, i think i can get away with it. Feel free to add a gate and shape it even further. I may upload an updated version later.

A rifle being dropped on the floor 3 times. Very metallic-y sounding drop sound with tons of bass. This one was sort of a happy accident. I was recording some ak foley with an airsoft gun i had when i accidentally dropped it. The sound it made turned out so good that i ended up using it for this. I actually really like how this turned out. Crediting me isn't required if you decide to use my sound, but it would be greatly appreciated if you do!.

This is a beat that i made in the audition editing program using two free sounds: a cat purr and a water drop. I have no use for it because it's too slow for the songs i usually write. This is a recording of me vacuuming my carpet (a short carpet, not sure of the exact name of it), in a small studio apartment in kansas city, ks. It's recorded with the worst mic possible (a generic labtec microphone you can buy at an office supply store for like 10 bucks). I literally have no idea the vacuum brand, as i searched all over it for a whole minute, to no avail. But who cares the brand, because it sounds cool! (it has "120v~60hz 7amps" if that means anything to you) i am mainly vacuuming up kitty litter from the carpet because my cat likes to make sand castles for hours on end and she likes to think "outside the box" as it may. Oh, and there is an obstacle between the mic and the space i'm vacuuming, it's literally a screen room divider. I recorded this just because i thought it would be cool, plus i'm just starting an associates in audio engineering, so i figured i could get experience doing just about anything. Oh, and the end is my favorite part, just because i like listening to the motor click off and wind down. Ummm. . . Yeah, i think that's about it. Enjoy!.

Vintage 1976 cloth top vw bug. I searched the database for this sound with no luck. Luckily i had some friends that could help me out. 2 people (my friends terese and jb) opened and closed the cloth top while i sat in the passenger side recording. I used a zoom h6 with the the xyh-6 mic at 24 bit 48k.

A 6-in-1 brass hammer being dismantled and put back together. I am aware that there are a few "pops" in the sound, but i am not completely sure how to remove them, so i left them there in case someone with more experience in audio editing wants them. The sounds i recorded from the smallest possible parts of the hammer are not included because they were way too quiet to be useful :1.

An ambient recording in may 2022 of a farm in rhinebeck, upstate new york. I wish i could name the animals that can be heard on here, there are all manner of frogs and birds in the area (blue jays, mockingbirds etc) alas i am not a native. There is a continuous whine throughout the recording which is a distant water pump - i suspect that, if desirable the frequency could be excluded with a bit of parametric eq.

I really needed something that sounded like a group of horses galloping in the distance and couldn't find anything. So i busted out my zoom h6 and set it on my futon comforter and then just tapped my fingertips on the surface right next to the stereo mics. Then i put that track in premiere and made four layers, all offset to get different rhythm and i thought it turned out pretty good so wanted to share it.
