This is the fire alarm in my building as recorded in the hallway outside my apartment. The ceilings are relatively low. The floor is vinyl or something. Drywall otherwise. This recording is backwards. Slowed down.

The boom is the genuine sound of a beretta 92fs being filmed on a cell phone with the slow motion feature. However i decided to add the "click-clack" of my switch blade knife as added effect. Clean notes played on a home-made diddley bow. Sampled with an electric pickup and a little added reverb to make up for lack of sustain. Seasick steve inspired me to construct a diddley bow (it ain't hard). All you need is a length of wire, 4 or 5 ft of two-by-four, some timber nails, an empty bottle and a hammer.

This is a nightingale in a very quiet environment, which is played 4 times slower. The gaps between the verses are removed, otherwise there would be always round about 20 seconds silence. The reverb is natural (no sound effects added), but sounds epic after slow downed with factor 4. The original 96khz/24bit-track was recorded with zoom f8 by using four rode nt1. Recording distance to the nightingale was 5-6 meter. ;-).
