Noise left after dithering and phase canceling a tone. A tone was created with audacity's tone generator. Another version of the tone was made by downsampling and dithering the original tone in ableton live. I then phase cancelled the two sounds by switching the polarity of one of the tones and blending them back together in audacity. Because of the phase canceling, none of the original tone can be heard. Only the noise added during dithering remains.

First attempt at recording with audacity and my new keyboard. All sounds are bone-stock from the mx49. I've only added a little reverb in one 15-second section of the piece. I didn't intend to do anything in particular, just checking out sounds on the keys and getting familiar with audacity. I think of it as a 21st century version of the beatles "revolution 9". This sound was recorded on a shoot i was on in march, before lock-down. I found when mixing the film that if you apply a cut around the upper-mid range of an eq that you remove a lot of the pressure heard from the exertion of the cork and it sounds more like a bottle cap opening but that's up to you. I'll upload my version of the edited sound as an example.

This sample is a vocal "arh" sound, pitch d. It was created by singing "arh" into a dynamic microphone, with pop-screen and recording, through an e-mu 1820, into cakewalk music creator pro version 2. The sample was then roughly trimmed. The sample was then imported into wavelabs lite where the dc off set was removed, the sample was normalized and the trimmed exactly. This sample was then imported back into cakewalk music creator pro version 2, compressed slightly, then duplicated 5 times. Each of these duplications was given slightly different attack and release times, different pan and different eqs. 1 sample was given a multiple voice chorus\flanger effect and another auto-pan. A 6 sample was then added before the main sample, with reduced gain. This sample has increasing volume envelope and "moving" pan envelope. All 6 samples where sent to the same master out where "chapel" style re-verb and compression was applied. The mix down from this was then imported into wavelad lite, dc off set removed and normalized.

A more dreary version of spooky siren. The intonations of this feel more grimdark, in a sense total tripedation and tension over an event can be felt like the forthcoming of a thunderstorm over a hero illuminating him towards his true path. Reasynth, orilriver and losers filtering plugins were used. I inspired this from half life 2's citadel siren which contained a single trailing notation.

While creating an ambient haunted house track, i created 4 slightly different versions of a grandfather clock chime by layering tube bells, hand bells, and a vibraphone at varying dynamics and articulations in musescore 2. 0. The chime rings at a b2. I obviously had a clock in mind when creating these sounds, but you could also use this as a singing bowl, a bell or gong, or as any number of sound effects.

I recorded this with my yamaha pocketrak at the paramount theater in seattle on feb. 29th, 2016 with one track duplication. This is the applause for stewart copeland and the seattle rock orchestra. Copeland scored the music for the silent version of 'ben hur' and the show was great as you can hear from the final applause. This is the new talking traffic signal in town. I got the idea to speed it up from listening to some radio commercials where the person talks a mile a minute to cram as many words into the commercial as possible.
