I was doing some field recording and it so happen that when i was out and about we had hail storm so i recorded from the start to finish. Whew! almost got hit by a hail stone as big as a pingpong ball. Yes, it was that big my car has dent all over, not good aye!.

We where located in the news media viewing area called nasa causeway. This as close as anyone can get to the launch. This was the maiden voyage of the orion spacecraft, and one of the very few delta iv heavy launches. In the beginning of recording you hear nasa announcer giving countdown into loud speakers, when you reach around the 1min 50 sec mark the true booster engine sound overtakes the pa system. I used zoom h4 handy recorder with built-in microphones. I modified the original sound and added equalized and compression. I changed the input and output sound progressively decreasing. Diy gate connector techno. My home made gate connector is fun to use for more then modular gate signals. Here we have a beat-ish in stereo. I use the gate connector as a poor mans stereo mixer. The sound is straight out from the modular.

Very clean recording of an ice cream truck outside, playing joplin's "the entertainer". I started and stopped and awkward times since we were in between takes, but if you have sound skills, its easily loopable. While on set in downtown la, an ice cream truck visited our crew. The rest is history. .

A complete trip on métro (subway) line 9 of the paris subway system, from the alma-marceau station to the havre-caumartin station. Starts with descent into the métro station and ends climbing up the steps back out at the destination. One train is allowed to pass, at about the 1-minute mark, as we wait on the platform, and an announcement giving the times for the next trains can be heard. The ride on the following train begins at around the 2-minute mark. There are two loud sounds between about 9:10 and 9:20 and some loud low-frequency wind noise at around 10:40 (as we leave the métro station and return outside), so beware. Recording with zoom h4n, originally 96 khz/24 bits, uploaded as mp3 320 kbps because the wav was so big (almost 500 mb).

As part of my sounds collection i pulled my iphone at the london tube and recorded it while standing inside the cart. The recording is from the second i left a station until we got to the next one (including an opening doors). No process was done.

Here we hear a german public bus approaching a snow-covered stop from the right, stop, and continue shortly thereafter. The engine is a prominent part of the recording. Needed a really good bar drop for a film we where doing. This is a nice combo of a dead iron bar drop to a sawdust and straw wood floor with the addition of a metal bar dropped on wood. This may be the most irritating squeak sound ever. In our office, we discovered a particular filing cabinet that squeaked if you would lean against it. It was too good to pass up.
